Before joining Tachau Meek in September 2009, Kate served as a law clerk for United States District Judge John G. Heyburn II and then for United States Circuit Judge Boyce F. Martin, Jr.
During law school, Kate worked as a student attorney in the University of Michigan Law School’s Pediatric Advocacy Initiative, a legal-medical collaborative designed to improve child health outcomes by addressing legal issues that affect the health of low-income children and their families. She also served as a summer law clerk at the Appalachian Citizens’ Law Center where she worked on cases involving federal black lung claims, mining-related environmental damage, mine safety, and worker discrimination.
Kate serves as a mentor to participants in the Bulldogs in the Bluegrass, an internship program for Yale undergraduate students. She also tutors members of Louisville’s growing Burmese refugee community in English.
Kate is married and enjoys running in her spare time. She completed the 2009 Boston Marathon.
